Driftwood Boatbuilding operates a full service, mobile woodworking shop for efficient on-site work.
As well as traditional techniques, Driftwood Boatbuilding also employs some modern methods for certain tasks. For the most part, I have discovered that epoxy is not the cure-all for older boat ailments, and does not replace traditional repairs over traditional construction. However, I do operate a vacuum press for making custom plywood panels, and epoxy is my adhesive of choice. The vacuum press has been very valuable for waterproof-leak proof hatches, interior furniture, doors, etc. I also use Scorpion Protective Coatings where a watertight fix is required, in lieu of more lengthy traditional repairs to cabin houses, decks, and the like.
